Hokol Vuh Festival
Known as "The Culinary Journey for Body and Soul", Hokol Vuh is one of Mexico's most important events taking place in Yucatan every year during the month of November. The main purpose of this festival is to celebrate Maya culture. International guest chefs gather to craft a Yucatecan sampler menu for visitors, and the flavours, the music and the atmosphere all combine to create the perfect scenario for a memorable event.
Hanal Pixan
Traditionally known as "Dia de los Muertos", this celebration that was awarded World Heritage status by UNESCO in 2003 is a must for everyone's visit to Mexico. During this celebration, the city offers a variety of cultural activities. Visit the local graveyards that are dressed and flowered by the families who visit their loved ones, or walk around the Zocalo to explore the offerings and enjoy the seasonal recipes. Mexican Independence Day
Mexicans celebrate their country’s Independence Day with fireworks, parties (fiestas), food, dance and music. Flags, flowers and decorations in the colours of the Mexican flag – red, white and green – are seen in public areas in cities and towns in Mexico. Whistles and horns are blown and confetti is thrown to celebrate this festive occasion. When: 16 September
Merida Fest
The celebration of Merida's founding takes place every January, where visitors can enjoy various activities featuring traditional gastronomy sections, sweets, workshops, crafts, theatre, dance and concerts.

Merida Symphonic Orchestra Season
From November to May, the Symphonic Orchestra performs different concerts around the city. During this time, Hacienda Xcanatun offers scheduled, intimate concerts on the Capilla featuring local and international artists.
